Urge Congress not to Slash Taxes for the Wealthy

House Republicans are once again playing a political game in order to benefit their wealthy donors and special interests.

After President Biden requested an emergency funding request, Republicans released legislative text that would provide aid for Israel while slashing funding for the IRS. The funding cuts would stop the IRS from having the capacity to investigate wealthy tax cheats and hold them accountable.

Ultimately, this is a larger ploy by the GOP to bail out their wealthy donors without having to pay their fair share.

What Republicans probably don’t realize is that by cutting IRS funding, they’re actually adding to the deficit by depriving the agency the resources it needs to collect taxes from rich tax dodgers who are costing the federal government tens of billions of dollars.

“House Republicans are using aid for Israel as a political pawn in order to slash taxes for their wealthy donors,” said Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden. “Making it easier for rich people to cheat on their taxes isn’t an offset, it adds to the deficit,” he added.

Enough is enough. Sign the petition urging Congress to not slash taxes for the wealthy.
