Tell Republicans in Congress: Don’t Abandon Ukraine

Just before the deadline of September 30 at midnight, Republicans in Congress passed legislation to fund the government and avert a government shutdown.

But in doing so, they excluded one key pieces of funding: Aid for Ukraine. That decision comes just days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Pres. Biden and members of congress to make the case for ongoing support in light of the continued assault from Russia.

Let's be clear: Refusing to continue American support for Ukraine is a gift from Republicans to Vladimir Putin. It's inexcusable – and it needs to be corrected now.

President Biden is calling on Republicans to keep their word and continue their support for Ukraine.

“We cannot under any circumstances allow American support for Ukraine to be interrupted, he said in a statement on Saturday.

"I fully expect the Speaker will keep his commitment to the people of Ukraine and secure passage of the support needed to help Ukraine at this critical moment," Pres. Biden continued.
