Tell Norway: Permanently Ban Deep Sea Mining

Norway is on the brink of moving forward with a dangerous deep sea mining plan that could have devastating consequences for our oceans and threaten fragile ecosystems that are crucial for biodiversity and the health of our planet.

Now, a new Greenpeace report highlights the significant risks of deep sea mining, warning that this destructive practice could irreparably damage marine life and worsen the climate crisis.

We must urge Norway to ban this practice and protect the delicate marine ecosystems that are essential for a healthy planet.

Experts are raising the alarm. Louisa Casson, a senior campaigner with Greenpeace, calls deep sea mining "an untested industry that could have catastrophic consequences for the deep sea, which is one of the least understood ecosystems on Earth."

Dr. Diva Amon, a deep-sea biologist, adds, “we’re still learning about the biodiversity of the deep sea, and opening it up to mining could destroy species before we even discover them.”

Norway must act responsibly and protect our oceans. Sign this petition to tell Norway that deep sea mining is too dangerous and must be stopped before it’s too late. Our oceans and future generations depend on it.
