Tell DHS: Stop Restricting Funds Based on Anti-Muslim Lies

Muslim Americans are being targeted — and instead of protecting them, the Department of Homeland Security is putting them in greater danger.

DHS provides funding grants to nonprofits who are at greater risk of attacks by extremists to keep them secure. But now, under DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, it has imposed new restrictions on Muslim nonprofits, labeling them “anti-Israel” or “extremist” without evidence.

By blocking critical security grants based on anti-Muslim lies, DHS is leaving mosques and community centers exposed at a time when hate crimes are surging. If we don’t protect their right to worship freely — and to simply exist — all of us will be at risk.

Tell DHS Secretary Kristi Noem: “Protect the rights of every American to worship and assemble safely. Reverse Islamophobic restrictions on security grants now.”

FBI reports show a sharp rise in anti-Muslim hate crimes, with mosques vandalized, congregants attacked, and entire communities living in fear. Yet DHS has imposed new restrictions on Muslim nonprofits, labeling them “anti-Israel” or “extremist” without evidence.

Every day these restrictions remain in place, Muslim families face greater risk of harassment, assault, or even terror attacks. Denying them equal access to protection tells millions of Americans that their safety, their freedom, and their faith do not matter. That message is deadly — and it cannot stand.

If enough of us raise our voices, we can force DHS to end this discriminatory policy and restore fair access to security funding. When communities feel safe to worship without fear, all of us are safer.

Add your name now to demand that Secretary Kristi Noem end these dangerous restrictions and guarantee security for every American, no matter their faith.

The petition to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem reads: “Protect the rights of every American to worship and assemble safely. Reverse Islamophobic restrictions on security grants now.”
