Tell Congress: Don’t Let Trump Weaponize the IRS

President Trump is trying to turn the IRS into a political weapon — and Congress must stop him before it’s too late.

The Trump administration is pushing to overhaul the IRS so it can target left-leaning nonprofits, labor unions, and Democratic donors. Political appointees would gain new power to launch audits against critics of the president. As Senator Ron Wyden warned, “the implicit threat is that if you give to a progressive cause, they’ll deem you a terrorist and ruin your life.”

Congress has the power to stop this. Lawmakers in both parties must launch emergency oversight hearings and block any move to politicize IRS audits. 

Tell Congress: “Don’t let Trump weaponize the IRS against dissent. Launch immediate hearings and defend the First Amendment.”

Trump’s plan would transform the IRS into a tool for political intimidation, silencing environmental advocates, civil rights groups, and reproductive freedom organizations — anyone who dares to disagree.

It’s all about revenge and crushing all dissent.

Equal treatment under the law is the foundation of democracy. If Trump can weaponize the IRS now, no one will be safe tomorrow.
