Take Action to Address the Teacher Shortage

America is suffering from a teacher shortage. Teachers have been leaving the profession for years, but with the pandemic and culture wars on education, it has gotten much worse.

All areas of education have felt the shortage. Seven and a half million American students qualify for special instruction, but there are few teachers to be found.

Our students deserve to have dedicated teachers and in appropriate class sizes.

It’s not just the students who suffer in shortages like this. The teachers also feel the pressure.

“It breaks your heart every single day as a teacher to know that you still needed more time with a student. And not only does it break your heart, but I could cry every single day worrying about the kids and that they need more time,” said Amy Quellette, a teacher in Michigan.

Districts and state leaders need to take action. Our students are counting on them.

Sign the petition today to urge leaders to take action to address the teacher shortage.
