Stop the Republican Attack on Federal Workers

Senate Republicans have launched a new assault on federal workers with two recently introduced bills that would slash pay and reduce benefits for millions of government employees. 

These bills aim to roll back locality pay increases and cut retirement benefits for federal workers, a direct attack on the very people who keep our government running.

Republicans like to talk about supporting American workers, but actions speak louder than words. They have consistently attacked public employees, and now they’re targeting federal workers with these bills. 

The hypocrisy is clear: while Republicans claim to stand for workers, they push policies that harm them. Donald Trump’s administration laid the groundwork for these anti-worker policies, and now Senate Republicans are carrying the torch.

In stark contrast, the Biden-Harris administration has worked to protect and empower workers. From raising the minimum wage for federal employees to strengthening labor rights, they’ve made it clear that they stand with working people. 

Vice Pres. Kamala Harris has also pledged to continue fighting for worker protections and fair wages when she becomes president, ensuring that the federal workforce is treated with the dignity and respect it deserves.

These Senate bills are just the latest example of Republican efforts to undermine workers. Whether it's opposing minimum wage increases or rolling back protections for union members, they’ve shown time and again that they prioritize corporate interests over the well-being of everyday Americans.

We must ensure that public servants are compensated fairly and that the federal government can continue to attract and retain the best talent to serve the public.
