Stop Big Tech from Building Uncontrollable AI

This summer, more than 1,000 AI agents at OpenAI evaded the company’s restrictions, created a secret network to communicate with each other, and hundreds participated in an attack on another company's systems.

It took OpenAI almost two weeks to discover the breach. 

If Big Tech companies continue to build AI technology they cannot fully control, the consequences could be catastrophic. 

That's why Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Greg Casar have introduced legislation to stop AI oligarchs from building technology that humans cannot fully control. 

Tell Congress to support the Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act and stop Big Tech from developing advanced AI without enforceable safety rules.

The legislation would create several new safeguards including banning AI systems that surpass human intelligence, pausing advanced AI development until a new regulatory body can establish safety rules, and setting penalties for anyone who breaks the rules. 

Researchers have also demonstrated AI's ability to help create new viruses, raising fears that increasingly powerful systems could someday be used to develop deadly bioweapons.

Sign the petition and tell Congress to support Sen. Sanders and Rep. Casar's bill to reign in Big Tech oligarchs from building uncontrollable AI. 

The petition to Congress reads: "Big Tech companies should not be allowed to develop AI systems that humans cannot control. Support the Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act to prohibit uncontrollable superintelligence, pause advanced AI development until enforceable safety rules are in place, and protect the public from the potentially catastrophic risks of AI."
