Stand With Ilhan Omar as She Refuses to Be Silenced

No American should face political intimidation for speaking their mind—and Representative Ilhan Omar is making clear that she will not be silenced after federal agents searched her Washington, D.C., home.  

The Department of Justice confirmed that Homeland Security Investigations agents executed a judicially authorized search warrant as part of an ongoing criminal investigation. The search comes after years of accusations from President Trump and his allies concerning Omar's immigration history, allegations that the congresswoman has repeatedly denied.  

Omar condemned the raid as an attempt to target political opponents and weaponize federal law enforcement. In a public statement, she reassured supporters that she was safe and declared, "I will not be silenced." Trump denied involvement in the investigation, while the Justice Department has not publicly disclosed the specific basis for the warrant.  

Regardless of political affiliation, every American deserves due process, equal treatment under the law, and the freedom to speak without fear of retaliation. Federal investigations must be conducted independently, based on evidence, and free from political interference.
