Sign the Petition to Condemn Right-Wing Islamophobia

In the aftermath of the recent terrorist attack on Israel, right-wing media personalities have predictably ramped up their Islamophobic attacks on the Muslim community.

Joel Pollak, Editor at Large of the Charlie Kirk show, announced his support for ethnic cleansing. "I’m OK with it," Pollak said. "If it comes down to ethnic cleansing -- you want to cleanse my people, I’ll cleanse yours first. I mean, that’s where we are."

"This is civilization, aka Western values, versus barbarism,” Kirk added.

Kirk later escalated his rhetoric to a fever pitch, claiming that "it's possible Hamas has hundreds or thousands of militants on the interior of the United States ready to bomb hospitals, blow up schools, or just rain terror."

As Media Matters for America pointed out, right-wing rhetoric about the Muslim community is strikingly similar to what we saw following September 11, 2001.

Here's how Media Matters put it:

"There were the panics about Sharia, “Islamofascism,” and a proposed Islamic community center in downtown Manhattan. And of course, the birther smear, the “terrorist fist jab” and other fearmongering attempting to paint President Barack Obama as a Kenyan-born Muslim. The Muslim ban, “no-go zones” in Sweden -- we could go on."

We can't go down that path again. Add your name to the petition condemning right-wing Islamophobia.
