Sign the Petition: Defend Gender-Affirming Care

As of November 2023, three in ten trans youth aged 12-17 are living in states that have passed bans on gender-affirming care. And states such as Oklahoma, Texas, and South Carolina have considered banning care for transgender people up to 26 years of age.

By preventing doctors from providing this care, these bills block transgender individuals from accessing medically necessary, safe healthcare.

It’s unacceptable – and we as a society must do better.

Louisiana, a state that recently passed a ban on gender-affirming health care for youth under 18, is facing a lawsuit from families of transgender minors. The lawsuit states, “The Health Care Ban, on its face…deprives transgender adolescents and their parents their right to equal protection of the laws.”

At a time where attacks against the LGBTQ+ community are at a high, it has never been more critical for gender-affirming care to be protected.
