Remove ‘Forever Chemicals’ From Our Clothes

Toxic chemicals have been found in hundreds of consumer products and clothing bought off the racks nationwide.

PFAS, also known as ‘forever chemicals’, are chemicals that do not break down in the environment and can accumulate in our bodies over time. 

Although the full health risks of wearing clothing with these chemicals are still widely unknown, the potential outcomes are scary. PFAS exposure has been linked to cancer, thyroid dysfunction, weight changes, and high cholesterol.

Recent studies have shown that forever chemicals are used as surface treatments to block water and stains. From raincoats to children’s school uniforms, any trace of these chemicals in our clothing is unacceptable. 

Until PFAS are no longer allowed in clothing, we must keep the pressure on.
