Investigate GOP FCC Commissioner’s Role in Project 2025

As you probably know, Project 2025 is a radical plan for Donald Trump's next presidential administration. It's a radical attack on reproductive rights, education, racial justice and democracy itself, put together by far-right think tanks and activists.

According to a disturbing new report, a full chapter of the plan was written by Brendan Carr, a sitting member of the Federal Communications Commission who was appointed by Donald Trump. This raises serious questions about whether Carr has violated federal laws or his duties as a public servant.

On July 17, more than a dozen members of Congress sent a letter to the FCC's Inspector General and other federal watchdogs urging them to investigate Carr's role in drafting Project 2025.

“Given the close ties between Project 2025, Trump, and his re-election campaign, it is deeply troubling that Commissioner Carr would use his official title and position to author part of the political playbook for a Republican presidential candidate,” the lawmakers wrote.

“This potential misuse of title raises serious questions about Commissioner Carr’s commitment to keeping his private political activities separate from his official duties," they continued.
