Impeach the Conservative Supreme Court Justices

After the Supreme Court decision to grant partial immunity to former President Trump as he faces felony charges for trying to overturn the 2020 election, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez vowed she would file impeachment articles against at least one justice. 

She stated that no one is above the law, and this decision threatens to put our country on a path to tyranny. 

“Today’s ruling represents an assault on American democracy,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “It is up to Congress to defend our nation from this authoritarian capture.”

Two Supreme Court Justices have connections to Trump’s “Stop the Steal” movement. Several of them have taken bribes from wealthy Republican funders. And three of them should have recused themselves from the case before it started, since they were appointed by Trump himself and obviously conflicted.

“The Framers of the Constitution envisioned a democracy governed by the rule of law and the consent of the American people,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said. “They did not intend for our nation to be ruled by a king or monarch who could act with absolute impunity.”
