Denounce Trump’s Behavior at Arlington National Cemetery

A federal law prohibits political activities on cemetery grounds. Despite that, Donald Trump’s campaign recently visited the Arlington National Cemetery to produce a campaign video. The video, which the Trump campaign posted on TikTok, showed Trump walking through the cemetery criticizing the Biden administration.

Worse, cemetery staff tried to prevent Trump’s team from photographing and filming in the area. In response, a Trump campaign staffer verbally abused and pushed the ANC official aside.

“This whole episode is sickening and (an) affront to all those hundreds of thousands of families who never agreed to allow their deceased loved ones to be dragged into politics,” said VoteVets in a  social media post. They believe Trump was using the cemetery for “political purposes.” 

In response, the US Army issued a rebuke of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign over the incident. 

This behavior is inappropriate and insensitive to the families of members buried at ANC. No candidate seeking higher office should stoop this low.
