Demand Trump Stop Targeting Foreign Students

Donald Trump has announced that he is revoking Harvard University's certification to host international students in an obvious attempt to force the prestigious university to bend to his will by threatening their tuition revenue, and creating a whole new group of foreign-born students to unleash his ICE Gestapo on.

"This means Harvard can no longer enroll foreign students, and existing foreign students must transfer or lose their legal status," said the Department of Homeland Security in a chilling statement. Seeing as ICE is happy to throw anyone who wasn't born in America in prison for humiliation and abuse, these students who are seeking some of the best education the world has to offer are suddenly find themselves pawns in Kristi Noem and Thomas Homan's sick, racist game.

If there were any way to ensure that the world's best and brightest stop coming to the United States, this is it. 27% of Harvard's student body are foreign students — around 6,800 people, most of whom are grad students.

You can be sure that students around the world were already thinking twice about coming to America after watching the Trump admin revoke visas and throw students in jail for writing op-eds and attending protests; the prospect of having a visa revoked on a whim because the administration feels like making an example of a university is definitely going to be a dealbreaker for thousands of prospective students. This is pointless and utterly self-defeating and we must put a stop to it immediately.
