Congratulate Auto Workers on their Successful Strike

The United Auto Workers recently struck a tentative deal with car manufacturers Ford, GM and Stellantis, ending the unprecedented six-weeks of coordinated strikes.

After years of stagnant wages and painful concessions after the 2008 financial crisis, this new deal won record pay increases and boosted pension costs.

This major deal signifies a turning point in the class war. For too long it’s been one-sided and working class people have been losing.

Roughly 450,000 workers in the United States have gone on strike in 2023. Strikes can be contagious, and with each successful outcome, other labor unions are more likely to follow.

“This historic contract is a testament to the power of unions and collective bargaining to build strong middle-class jobs while helping our most iconic American companies thrive,” said President Joe Biden.
